Building foundations for engineering quality

A high-level work summary from my professional experience, including engineering and test enablement work at IKEA / Ingka Group. This is not publicly released code; private implementation specifics and internal metrics are omitted.

The problem

Quality engineering involves more than running tests. I think of it as helping people understand what they can trust, what needs attention, and how to move forward. Shared capabilities need to support that understanding without becoming another layer of complexity.

My contribution

I built quality engineering platforms as part of my engineering work. During my time as a Tech Lead and Senior Engineer at IKEA / Ingka Group from 2019 to 2024, my work included engineering services and test enablement platforms.

My earlier experience at Syntel and Capgemini gave me a foundation across software engineering, testing, and the connection between delivery and business needs.

My approach

I approached enablement as a practical engineering responsibility. A platform should make the useful path easier to find, while leaving teams able to understand and own their work.

The questions I value are straightforward: what is repeated, what can be made clearer, and what information helps someone take the next step? They keep the focus on the people using a capability, not only the components used to build it.

What I learned

I learned to see shared platforms as part of the everyday experience of engineering. Their value is not captured by a feature list alone.

For me, quality enablement means supporting informed decisions and a workable path through complexity. Building the capability matters; making its purpose understandable matters just as much.
